Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Isco will be leaving the club on a free transfer at the end of June.

The 30-year-old made just his 17th appearance of the season on Friday evening, appearing as a second-half substitute in the goalless draw with Real Betis at Bernabeu.

Isco's contract with Los Blancos is due to expire at the end of next month, and Ancelotti confirmed after the team's final league match of the campaign that the playmaker would be leaving this summer.

"We spoke ahead of the match about the fact he had debuted under me against Real Betis, even scoring a headed goal that day," Ancelotti told reporters after the contest.

"He has had a fantastic career here and been key to some big successes. Maybe he could have done more here, but I think he has been an important piece this whole time, playing lots of finals and showing his quality. I wish him the best."

Isco has only started three league matches this season, while he has not featured on a single occasion in the Champions League during the 2021-22 campaign and faces a battle to be involved in the final against Liverpool at the end of the month.

The playmaker has made 352 appearances for Los Blancos since arriving from Malaga in 2013, scoring 53 goals and registering 56 assists in the process.

Isco has won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and four Champions League crowns during his time in the Spanish capital and will be hoping to leave the club with five European Cups.

Marcelo's contract at Bernabeu is also due to expire at the end of June, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding the Brazilian's future in recent months.

However, Ancelotti has refused to reveal whether the left-back will also be leaving on a free transfer, with discussions set to take place after the clash with Liverpool.

"Marcelo hasn't bid farewell yet and he is still our captain for the final in Paris. If he leaves after the final, he'll do so having been one of the best full-backs ever," said the Real Madrid manager.

The 34-year-old has made 18 appearances for Los Blancos during the 2021-22 campaign, including 12 outings in La Liga, also featuring off the bench against Real Betis on Friday.

Marcelo is expected to be on the bench for the Champions League final, with Ferland Mendy firmly first choice for the starting role at left-back.

The Brazilian has made 545 appearances for Real Madrid since arriving from Fluminense in 2007, contributing 38 goals and 103 assists in the process.

Gareth Bale is definitely leaving Bernabeu on a free transfer at the end of June, but Luka Modric, also out of contract next month, is set to sign a new one-year deal in the Spanish capital. body check tags ::
