Espanyol have confirmed that goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is on the verge of joining Real Madrid after both clubs agreed a deal.
The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu after Iker Casillas joined Porto last week.
It has now been confirmed via Espanyol's official website that Casilla, who began his career in Madrid's youth team, will end his seven-year spell with the club to return to the Bernabeu.
The transfer could affect Madrid's interest in Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, with some reports claiming that the Spaniard will wait until next summer to join the La Liga giants on a free transfer.
