Everton and Leeds United are reportedly ready to go head-to-head for the signature of veteran Real Madrid defender Marcelo this summer.
The 33-year-old's time at the Bernabeu appears to be nearing an end, with his contract due to expire in 12 months' time and no renewal in sight.
Marcelo is supposedly keen to remain in the Spanish capital until his deal runs out, but he is not thought to be in the plans of returning manager Carlo Ancelotti.
As a result, The Mirror claims that Marcelo's agents are working to find him a new club for the 2021-22 campaign, with Everton and Leeds both hoping to snap up the left-back.
The report adds that it would only take a bid of £5m to secure Marcelo's signature, and Everton are already leading the way for the Brazilian, who is after a two-year deal from any potential suitors.
The full-back has won five La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns during his 14-year stint at Real Madrid, but he only started 12 top-flight games last season.
