Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso is reportedly a target for Fiorentina this summer.
La Viola director Eduardo Macia has contacted Alonso's agent about the Spain international's availability, and is understood to have been given encouraging signals, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Italians' coach Vincenzo Montella is thought to be keen on the 31-year-old, who has also been linked with a return to Liverpool this summer.
La Viola finished fourth in Serie A last season, missing out on Champions League football on the final day of the campaign.
