Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said that he is not concerned by the prospect of Real Madrid signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe.

There is currently ongoing speculation surrounding Mbappe's future, with the France international allegedly being put up for sale this summer due to his refusal to sign a new deal.

PSG reportedly believe that the forward has already agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in June 2024, but they are determined to avoid losing the World Cup winner for nothing, which could lead to him leaving in a big-money deal during the current window.

Mbappe is said to have turned down the chance to move to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal, with the forward not prepared to meet with the club's representatives.

Real Madrid could sign the 24-year-old this summer, but the thought of one of the best players in the world moving to Bernabeu is not a concern for Barcelona, insists their president Laporta.

"No," Laporta told ESPN Deportes when asked whether he was worried about the Frenchman's potential switch to Barcelona's biggest domestic rivals.

"On paper, he is an extraordinary player, who makes a difference. Having him in front of you complicates a game, but I have confidence in my team. For me, the players Barca have are the best."

Laporta also insisted that the team will always be more important than the individual, and the president is pleased with the additions that have been made this summer.

"A team is made up of eleven players and the priority must always be the team rather than individuals. I would be worried if the team in front of me were stronger as a team than mine. We have a better team than last year and we're going to have an even better team," he added.

Barcelona have made three additions this summer, bringing in Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez on free transfers from Manchester City and Athletic Bilbao respectively.

Meanwhile, Oriol Romeu has been re-signed from Girona, with the 31-year-old returning to Camp Nou to bolster the midfield.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, have made three permanent signings this summer, bringing in Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Fran Garcia.

Joselu has also arrived on loan from Espanyol, and the 33-year-old scored a spectacular over-head kick in Real Madrid's 2-0 friendly win over Manchester United last time out.

Barcelona reclaimed the La Liga title from Real Madrid last season, finishing top of the division on 88 points, 10 points clear of second-placed Los Blancos, who won the Copa del Rey. body check tags ::
