Real Madrid have denied reports that emerged overnight suggesting that they had made an £85m bid for Juventus star Paul Pogba.
It was claimed by Italian newspaper La Stampa that the France international was a top target for Los Blancos this summer, but the club have moved quickly to rubbish suggestions of a record-breaking move.
"Real Madrid have had no contact either with Juventus or the player's agent and, as a consequence, the reports published in this newspaper are completely false," a statement on Madrid's official website read.
Madrid legend Francisco Buyo was among those to tip Pogba with a switch to the Bernabeu, suggesting that a switch would be a great move for all parties involved.
The 22-year-old is also said to be wanted by Manchester City and former club Manchester United.
