Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly 'concerned' over the future of one of their first-team starters following the departure of Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid confirmed earlier this month that they have agreed to sign Mbappe on a free transfer when his contract at the Parc des Princes expires on June 30.

Mbappe has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Los Blancos and leaves PSG as their all-time leading scorer after netting 256 goals in 308 appearances across seven successful seasons in the French capital.

PSG are now focused on recruiting an adequate replacement for the 25-year-old as well as strengthening the squad in other key areas as they endeavour to consolidate their position at the summit of French football.

However, it is understood that Mbappe is not the only Parisiens player who could be heading for the exit door in the near future.

Hakimi to consider future Real Madrid move?

According to Mundo Deportivo, PSG have initiated contact with right-back Achraf Hakimi as they are 'concerned' that he may soon wish to seeks pastures new.

The report adds that the French giants are determined to tie the Morocco international down to a new contract, with his current deal due to expire in June 2026.

It is claimed that PSG fear that Hakimi will consider a 'new project' away from the Parc des Princes following Mbappe's departure to Real Madrid and a move to the Spanish capital would appeal to the defender.

Hakimi spent a decade as an academy player for Real Madrid before making his senior debut in 2017, but he only made 17 first-team appearances and was eventually sold to Inter Milan following a two-year loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.

PSG keen to keep key man Hakimi

Hakimi spent just one season at Inter before making the €68m switch to PSG in the summer of 2021 and has since established himself as a key first-team player.

The attack-minded right-back has scored 14 goals and registered 19 assists in 120 appearances for PSG across all tournaments, contributing with five goals and seven assists in 40 games last season.

Hakimi has won a total of six trophies at PSG, including three Ligue 1 titles, and his influence in the side has been recognised as he has been named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year for the last two seasons.

It is thought that Real Madrid currently have no immediate plans to recruit a new right-back, but they may look to bolster that area of the pitch in the near future, as 32-year-old pair Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez are both set to possess contracts that expire in June 2025 - the latter is currently negotiating a one-year renewal to his current deal that runs out in a few weeks' time. body check tags ::
