Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly increasingly confident of keeping Kylian Mbappe beyond the end of his current contract in June.
The 23-year-old is in the final six months of his deal at the Parc des Princes and, as things stand, he would become one of the most valuable free transfers in football history at the end of the season.
Real Madrid have held a long-standing interest in Mbappe and remain hopeful of bringing him to the Bernabeu this summer.
However, ESPN claims that PSG have held positive talks with the France international, who is now thought to be more open to staying than before.
The Ligue 1 leaders are reportedly willing to make Mbappe their highest earner ahead of both Lionel Messi and Neymar, and crucially could let him sign a two-year deal rather than a longer extension.
PSG are also hopeful of appointing Zinedine Zidane as manager before the start of next season, and Mbappe has previously cited his compatriot as his sporting idol.
The forward has again been in fine form this season, scoring 19 goals and creating 15 more in 27 appearances across all competitions. body check tags ::
