Real Madrid reportedly attempted to sign Lyon teenager Amine Gouiri in the latter stages of the January transfer window but were unable to get a deal over the line.
Gouiri came through the academy system at Lyon and has made 14 appearances for the French club in all competitions, including four during the current campaign.
The 19-year-old earned his first Champions League minutes against Zenit St Petersburg back in November, although he has not yet been involved in the league this season.
According to L'Equipe, Madrid held talks with Les Gones over the possibility of signing the striker before the transfer deadline, but the youngster ultimately stayed with his French club.
Gouiri, who has a contract at the Groupama Stadium until the summer of 2022, has been capped on three occasions by France's Under-21 side.
Madrid, though, did complete a deal for Brazilian teenager Reinier Jesus during the January transfer window.
