Real Madrid have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi this summer.
Los Blancos have still not replaced Cristiano Ronaldo, with Chelsea thus far managing to keep hold of Eden Hazard.
According to Libertad Digital, Real Madrid recently held talks with Icardi's representative and wife Wanda Nara amid suggestions that the Argentine could move to the Bernabeu.
However, the same report has claimed that the European champions backed out of the deal, and have no intention of attempting to bring the striker to the Spanish capital.
Icardi has scored 107 goals in 182 appearances for Inter since a move from Sampdoria in the summer of 2013.
Last season, the 25-year-old scored 29 times in 36 Inter appearances in all competitions.
