Real Madrid are reportedly interested in re-signing central defender Mario Hermoso from Espanyol.

The 23-year-old came through the youth system at the Bernabeu before joining Espanyol in the summer of 2017.

The Spaniard has impressed during his time with the Catalan outfit, and according to Diario AS, Los Blancos want to re-sign Hermoso to ease their defensive concerns.

The report claims that Madrid can re-sign Hermoso for as little as £6.6m, and could activate the clause either in January or at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Hermoso - a former Spain Under-19 international - has scored twice in eight La Liga appearances for Espanyol this term.
