Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa has reportedly rejected the chance to join Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old will be out of contract at the Bernabeu this summer and is not expected to be offered a new deal.
According to Marca, Shanghai Shenhua were prepared to offer the former Spanish international a lucrative contract to make the move to China, but the full-back was not prepared to entertain the interest.
The Chinese Super League has hit the headlines in recent weeks, with high-profile players in the shape Jackson Martinez, Ramires and Alex Teixeira all making the move to Asia in the January transfer window.
