Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly urged Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to bring Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho to the Bernabeu.
Carvalho, who was part of the Portugal squad that won Euro 2016, came through the youth system at Sporting before making his first-team debut in 2011.
West Ham United were strongly linked with the 25-year-old in the summer, while Everton, Manchester City and Manchester United have previously been credited with an interest in the defensive midfielder.
Carvalho is understood to want to finally complete a Premier League move in January, but according to Don Balon, Ronaldo is attempting to convince Real Madrid to sign his Portuguese teammate.
Carvalho has made over 150 first-team appearances for Sporting over the last six seasons.
