Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese has insisted that Real Madrid are trying to sign him ahead of next season.
The 30-year-old says that he has been approached by Madrid boss Jose Mourinho over a move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. Wiese has already signalled his intentions to leave the Weserstadion when his contract expires at the end of the season.
"If such a story comes into circulation, there is usually some truth in it. There is contact between Real and my agent," Wiese told Syke.
"The international option appeals to me, of course, as [La Liga and Serie A] are great leagues.
"But there are many factors which play a role in such a decision, such as the family. I must think carefully."
Wiese has been at Bremen for seven seasons and has earned six caps for Germany.
