Rennes moved back into the Ligue 1 Champions League qualifying spots with a comfortable 3-1 win over Ajaccio this afternoon.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the early stages of the match as Samuel Bouhours was shown a straight red card for a professional foul.
Rennes' numerical advantage soon showed as Julien Feret opened the scoring on 27 minutes, but the hosts were then made to wait until the 85th minute to double their lead.
Razak Boukari thought he had secured the points for the Champions League chasers but a nervous finish was in store as Araujo Ilan gave Ajaccio hope with a goal soon after.
However, Yasine Brahimi did wrap up the result for Rennes in stoppage time as the hosts moved above Lyon into fourth in the table.
Ajaccio remain outside of the drop zone due to fellow strugglers Brest and Sochaux also suffering defeats.
