Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed that Jonathan Walters will play no part in tomorrow's Group E match against Belgium at Euro 2016.
The 32-year-old was substituted in the 64th minute of Monday's 1-1 draw with Sweden in Paris as his Achilles injury flared up.
The Stoke City forward has now officially been ruled out of the next match, but O'Neill told reporters this afternoon that the player is hopeful of being fit for the final group game against Italy.
James McClean is expected to start in Walters's place for tomorrow's clash in Bordeaux.
