Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane sat out of training on Wednesday because of an Achilles injury.

The 32-year-old, who has 121 international caps to his name, has been suffering with the complaint in recent weeks.

However, assistant boss Marco Tardelli has told reporters that the Los Angeles Galaxy striker will be fit to face Germany on Friday.

The striker has scored 54 goals for his country.
