Martin O'Neill has expressed his joy after the Republic of Ireland beat Latvia 3-0 in his first match as manager.
Goals from Robbie Keane, Aiden McGeady and Shane Long were enough to secure victory against a Latvia side that failed to trouble the hosts.
However, despite praising his players, O'Neill also added that Ireland would come up against better opposition.
"I am delighted with the team and with the performance," he told BBC Sport.
"We have got sterner tests ahead - we know that - but it is nice to win and we played some good football too. It was an exhilarating night for us.
"We could have scored a few more but overall I am delighted with the team."
O'Neill's next match in charge sees Ireland travel to Poland.
