A late goal has denied Reading the win in Portugal as they were held to a 1-1 draw by CDR Quarteirense.
The newly-promoted Premier League club took the lead in the 37th minute thanks to a trademark Ian Harte free kick.
Their lead was nearly doubled in the second half but Noel Hunt's header was cleared off the line.
Instead, the hosts grabbed an equaliser inside the final 10 minutes, much to delight of the home support.
