Roma attacking midfielder Erik Lamela is sidelined for three weeks after suffering a ligament damage in his right ankle.

Roma attacking midfielder Erik Lamela will be out of action for three weeks with an ankle injury.

The 20-year-old Argentine suffered the ligament injury on his right ankle during the second half of the Lupi's 2-0 home victory over Torino in Serie A on Monday.

"Erik Lamela has today undergone medical examinations which have revealed a ligament injury to his right ankle," reads a statement on Roma's official website.

"The prognosis is three weeks [of recovery]."

Lamela has scored eight goals in 12 Serie A matches for Roma so far this season.
