Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has claimed that inconsistent form was the reason behind his decision to send Kelle Roos back to Derby County.
The Millers secured the signing of Lee Camp on a free transfer earlier this week, and the arrival of the experienced goalkeeper allowed the club to part ways with Roos.
Derby had agreed to loan the 23-year-old to Rotherham for the season, but Evans believes that his club had to make a tough decision after a number of errors in his four appearances in the side.
"People will question Kelle Roos going back," he told reporters. "We as a management team 100 per cent believe Kelle Roos will play at a high level.
"But at this minute in time his inconsistency is not something we could afford."
Rotherham have recorded one draw and four defeats in their opening five Championship games.
