Sampdoria have confirmed the signing of Icelandic international Birkir Bjarnason from Pescara in a co-ownership deal for an undisclosed fee.
Bjarnason spent last season on loan in Serie A with Pescara, with the Delfino taking up a permanent option on the midfielder despite getting relegated to Serie A.
Samp have agreed a move which see them share rights with Pescara for Bjarnason, with the 25-year-old spending this season in Genoa for an instant return to the Italian top flight.
Primarily a central midfielder, Bjarnason earned a move to Serie A last summer after impressing for Standard Liege, while also scoring three times in 22 appearances for his country.
