Sports Mole previews Monday's Argentine Primera Division clash between San Lorenzo and Talleres, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

San Lorenzo entertain the challenge of Talleres Cordoba at the Estadio Pedro Bidegain in round 10 of the 2022 Argentine Primera Division season.

The away side are looking to pick up consecutive league wins for the first time this term, while the hosts seek to return to winning ways following consecutive stalemates in their last two involvements.

Match preview

San Lorenzo had to make do with a share of the spoils for the second game running courtesy of a 2-2 draw against Union de Santa Fe on Wednesday.

Ruben Dario Insua's men raced to a commanding lead in the opening period thanks to strikes from Adam Bareiro and Nahuel Barrios before they were pegged back through second-half goals from Diego Polenta and Tomas Gonzalez.

As a result, El Azulgrana have dropped to 12th place in the league table and are currently separated from the bottom half only by goal difference.

Their next assignment comes against an opposing outfit who have lost both of the last two meetings between the teams after winning the previous six clashes prior.

Still yet to suffer a home defeat this season, Monday's hosts will be confident of securing another positive result in front of their supporters.

Talleres recorded their first league triumph since the first week of June by beating Banfield 1-0 at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes on Thursday.

Pedro Caixinha's men broke the deadlock in the 17th minute through Diego Valoyes, and that proved to be enough to get the job done in Cordoba.

Having now amassed eight points from a possible 27 so far, the Blue and White have moved up to 23rd in the standings and will be aiming to pull further away from the lower echelons of the table.

Off the back of a first away loss in five matches in their most recent game on enemy territory, Sunday's visitors will be keen to get themselves back on track.

Team News

The Colombian Rafael Perez is eligible to feature for Talleres once again having missed his side's last outing through a one-game suspension.

Meanwhile, Michael Santos continues to battle with a muscle problem, and the 29-year-old is not expected to play any part in Monday's contest.

Adam Bareiro has now found the back of the net in each of his last six appearances for San Lorenzo, making the forward one to keep an eye on.

Nicolas Blandi and Yeison Gordillo remain sidelined for the hosts, while Jeremias James also misses out through a hamstring injury.

San Lorenzo possible starting lineup:
Herrera; Diaz, Perez, Catalan, Benavidez; Villagra, Oliva; Franco, Godoy, Valoyes; Girotti

Talleres possible starting lineup:
Torrico; Gattoni, Zapata, Campi; Giay, Mendez, Martegani, Fernandez; Cerutti, Bareiro, Barrios

We say: San Lorenzo 1-0 Talleres

Talleres have had difficulty finding the back of the net this term, and we expect their attacking struggles to continue here. We are also backing San Lorenzo to scrape a narrow victory come the end of the 90 minutes.
