Sassuolo and Palermo played out a goalless draw at the Mapei Stadium to claim a point apiece from their Serie A meeting this evening.

Ivaylo Chochev forced Andrea Consigli into making the game's first save of note on the 16-minute mark, with the visiting stopper getting down well to keep the ball out.

In-demand forward Paulo Dybala almost added to his impressive goal tally for the season when presented with an opening soon after, but he saw his effort blocked.

Juventus target Dybala came close again when he stepped up to take a free kick shortly before half time, while Francesco Acerbi was only denied a breakthrough goal by Samir Ujkani's fine stop at the other end.

Neither side were able to find a decisive goal in the second half, either, as Simone Zaza and Dybala both squandered chances to win it for their respective teams.

The Black and Greens remain just two places above the relegation zone, but y are in no danger of facing the drop down to Serie B, while Palermo are camped firmly in mid-table.
