Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt has confirmed that goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand will leave Veltins-Arena at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old, who has been at Schalke since joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2011, is out of contract in the summer and will not be offered a new deal.
"Timo Hildebrand will be leaving the club at the end of the season," Heldt told Deutsche Presseagentur.
"The signature of Timo Hildebrand back in October 2011 has been a very important deal of Schalke 04.
"Still our main focus is to mainly have the future in mind when making decisions on new contracts."
Hildebrand, who has been capped seven times by Germany at senior international level, recently lost his starting place in the Schalke side to 25-year-old Ralf Fahrmann.
