Schalke 04 have sent an email to Raul to offer the forward a new one-year contract extension with the club.
The Spanish legend, whose current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, is thought to be holding out for a two-year stay.
"We had planned to meet, but we both have an extremely busy schedule at the moment. We don't always have to meet in order to submit a proposal and we have modern means of communication," said manager Horst Heldt.
"There's absolutely no hurry, because so far we are both on schedule."
Raul recently scored his 400th career goal following a 16-year spell with Real Madrid.
