Scotland international Ikechi Anya praises the team spirit in the squad ahead of their crucial Euro 2016 qualifier with Republic of Ireland.

Scotland international Ikechi Anya has admitted that possessing a "team environment" has been key to their impressive start to their Euro 2016 qualification campaign.

Gordon Strachan's side have recorded 10 points from their opening five fixtures, and victory over Republic of Ireland on Saturday evening would give them a five-point cushion with four games to go as they look to secure at least a place in the playoffs.

The 27-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "It's bigger than one person, the thing that we've got here. There are no egos here. We are all looking out for each other. We have very much a team environment.

"We have a massive game against Ireland. We know that if we can get the points it will stand us in good stead to qualify for a major tournament and that's more than any footballer can ask for.

"I see the quality we have. If we can keep focused and not let the game get to us, it would put us in a great position. After that, we've got four games left and I'm confident we can secure the points."

Anya was won 14 caps for Scotland since making his debut in 2013.
