Shaun Maloney has said that he was "just glad to be on the winning side" after Scotland beat the Republic of Ireland in Friday's crucial Euro 2016 qualifier.
Maloney scored the only goal of the game as his side ran out 1-0 winners at Celtic Park to take them level on points with Ireland in Group D.
He told Sky Sports: "It was pretty brutal. It wasn't pretty at times. I'm just glad to be on the winning side.
"You try to pick your spot with the goal. It [Scott Brown's backheel assist] was worked on the training ground, although I'm not sure it was fully like that."
Scotland take on England in a friendly on Tuesday.
