Graham Shinnie is one of two uncapped players named by Gordon Strachan in the Scotland squad for next month's last two Euro 2016 qualifiers against Poland and Gibraltar.

Gordon Strachan has named his Scotland squad for next month's final two Euro 2016 Group D qualifiers against Poland and Gibraltar, handing a first international call-up to Aberdeen's Graham Shinnie.

Shinnie is one of two uncapped players in the squad, with Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Kevin McDonald also returning to the fold a year after his first call-up.

Shinnie, a full-back by trade, has impressed Strachan with his performances in midfield for Aberdeen, who lead Celtic by four points at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Scotland face second-placed Poland at Hampden Park on Thursday, October 8 before travelling to face minnows Gibraltar three days later.

Strachan's side are fourth in the group, four points behind the Republic of Ireland in third and six behind Poland. The best third-placed team advances to next year's tournament in France, while the other eight third-placed team will contest a playoff round to decide the last four qualification spots.
