Steven Fletcher has admitted that he is bitterly disappointed with the way in which Scotland bowed out of Euro 2016 qualifying on Thursday night.
Gordon Strachan's men recovered from an early Robert Lewandowski opener in tonight's visit of Poland to lead 2-1 courtesy of goals from Matt Ritchie and Fletcher, but the Bayern Munich marksman struck a 94th-minute equaliser to deny the hosts three much-needed points.
Elsewhere in Group D, the Republic of Ireland guaranteed themselves at least a third-place playoff by beating Germany 1-0 in Dublin to end the Scots' hopes of reaching France next summer.
"It's been a disappointing night after how well we played. When you lose a goal like that late on it's a real low blow to everyone in the dressing room," the Sunderland man told Sky Sports News.
"We felt we were making a lot of progress, but ultimately we failed to do what we set out to do or even make the playoffs."
Scotland round off their qualification campaign with Sunday's trip to Gibraltar, who have conceded 50 goals and scored two in nine outings.
