Scotland boss Gordon Strachan: 'We didn't do enough to beat Georgia'

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan calls on his players to bounce back from their Euro 2016 defeat to Georgia.

Scotland boss Gordon Strachan has admitted that his side did not do enough to beat Georgia following their 1-0 defeat in the Euro 2016 qualifier in Tbilisi.

The 58-year-old urged his players to pick up as many points as possible in their remaining three matches, with qualification now hanging in the balance.

"We didn't do enough to win it," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"I've just got to think that we've got three games left [in Group D]. I want to get as many points as possible."

Although the defeat has seen Scotland fall behind the Republic of Ireland into fourth place in the group, Strachan said that he is confident his players will put the slip-up behind them.

"Of course I'm concerned after a defeat, no matter what the target is," he added. "So I'm not as happy a bunny as I was this morning but I've been there before.

"I've not changed my thought processes since it started and sometimes it's a bumpy ride to get where you want to go - we had a bump tonight and we have to deal with that and I have every confidence in the players.

"To the group, they'll get themselves organised, refreshed and looking forward to the challenge. There are players in the dressing room who I'm sure will be wanting to put on a great performance on Monday night. It'll have to be a great performance to collect points."

Scotland will take on Germany on Monday at Hampden Park in their next Euro 2016 qualifier.
