Scotland and Huddersfield left-back Paul Dixon has revealed that he is delighted to have impressed on his debut for his country in the 0-0 draw with Serbia.

Dixon was included late on in manager Craig Levein's squad and has said that after learning of Serbia boss Sinisa Mihajlovoc's plan to attack his flank, he was delighted to prove him wrong.

"I thought it was our tactic sheet at first," Dixon said. "I just [saw it] over someone's shoulder at breakfast and then I took a proper look at it and noticed it was theirs. So I thought: 'All right, if that is what they want to do then I will show them otherwise' and I feel as though I did that.

"It is a dream come true, playing for my country and I've got man of the match as well so I don't think it could have gone any better other than getting the win.

The draw with Serbia was Dixon's first Scotland cap.
