Sevilla boss Unai Emery has refused to place the blame on his players for Sunday's 2-1 home defeat to Celta Vigo.
Emery's team have still not won in the league this season, but the head coach has insisted that their effort cannot be called into question.
The Spaniard has also claimed that the Europa League winners were well worthy of a point against Celta and could have even claimed all three.
"I didn't see a lack of effort from my players. We have a lot of absences, either through injury or a lack of integration [referring to some of the new boys]," he told reporters.
"Celta were superior in the first half, while we lacked some freshness. In the second half, we wanted to play with two strikers. We deserved the draw and even had chances to win."
Sevilla have drawn two and lost two of their four league games this season.
