Sevilla sporting director Monchi has revealed that Ever Banega's contract will be automatically extended another 12 months if he makes one more appearance for the Spanish club.
The Argentine's current deal at the Estadio Ramon expires this summer and it is understood that a number of clubs, including Inter Milan, are interested in signing the 27-year-old on a free transfer.
Monchi stopped short of confirming that Banega will represent the club again this season, but is confident that all parties will soon come to an agreement.
"Ever has a contract until June 30 and if he plays one more game, he will have a contract until June 30, 2017," Monchi told reporters.
"I am not concerned about the rumours. I have a great relationship with him and a very good feeling. Other players worry me more than Ever. I had a psychologist who said that whatever happens, happens.
"What concerns us [is] Banega's current level of involvement. We are working to ensure his contract isn't just extended by a year, but even longer. We also understand that he can listen to offers, like anyone else."
Sevilla return to La Liga action at home to Villarreal on Sunday afternoon.
