Sevilla president Jose Castro has revealed that the club are working on a new contract for Argentine midfielder Ever Banega.
The 27-year-old joined Unai Emery's side from Valencia in 2014 and has been a key player for the Europa League winners since arriving at the Estadio Ramon.
Banega recently revealed that he wants to pen an extension with his current club and that is also the view shared by the powers that be.
"We're working on Banega's renewal at the moment," Castro told Radio Marca. "He's an important player and enjoying his best football at Sevilla. We must show our appreciation for his quality so an agreement can be reached, but he wants to stay and continue with Sevilla."
Banega scored Sevilla's second goal in their 3-2 win over Real Madrid at the weekend.
