Shanghai SIPG midfielder Oscar has received an eight-match ban for deliberately kicking the ball at two opposition players.
The incident - which took place during open play in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Guangzhou R&F - led to a mass brawl taking place, with many members of both backroom staffs also getting involved.
Despite his actions not resulting in the referee stopping play, the Chinese Football Association has opted to punish the Brazilian for instigating the scenes which followed and he will now be sidelined until the middle of August.
The former Chelsea playmaker has also been handed a fine of £4,700, which is small change given the lucrative contract he signed after exiting Stamford Bridge.
Oscar has scored four times in 21 appearances since making the switch to Asia.
