Shrewsbury Town have completed the signing of Matt Tootle on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old had been a free agent for a short period of time following his release by Crewe Alexandra.

"It was an easy decision when I found out Shrewsbury were interested," he told the club's official website.

"I had a bit of other interest but it was easy in the end when I knew Shrewsbury were involved. I'm now looking forward to playing in a team that has got lots of experience and hopefully it's a successful period for me."

The defender had previously spent his entire senior career with Crewe.
