Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has suggested that he has no intention of recalling Sullay Kaikai from his Shrewsbury Town loan spell.
The 20-year-old is reportedly being tracked by a couple of Championship clubs who are keen on making a January move for the Eagles starlet.
Kaikai, who has scored five goals in 12 League One outings for the Shrews, was due to return to Selhurst Park in January when his initial four-month deal expires.
However, Pardew is happy with the youngster's development at New Meadow and is likely to agree fresh terms with Shrewsbury over extending the loan contract.
"For Sullay to deliver there is great news for us," he is quoted as saying by the Shropshire Star. "I'm very pleased and, if I don't call him back, hopefully he can stay there. He's liked playing for the Under-21s, but there's no league table [whereas at Shrewsbury] it's life and death.
"I'd be quite happy for him to stay where he is - the manager has done a super job with him. Why change the environment? Why does he need to go and play in the Championship?"
Selhurst Park academy product Kaikai has also previously spent time on loan at Crawley Town and Cambridge United.
