Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis has been hailed by his manager Nigel Adkins for the attitude that he has shown over recent weeks.
Despite having been a key part of the Southampton team that achieved promotion to the Premier League last season, Davis was dropped during the early stages of the current campaign and replaced by Argentine Paulo Gazzaniga.
However, 20-year-old Gazzaniga suffered an injury in training last week and as a result Davis returned to the starting lineup for his side's 1-0 victory over Reading on Saturday afternoon.
"Kelvin has played and great credit to him because for the last two seasons he has been magnificent," Adkins told the Daily Echo.
"Paulo was injured and Kelvin came in. He has been working so hard on the training ground and that has been demonstrated with his performance today."
Davis joined the Saints from Sunderland in 2006.
