Southampton's Steven Davis believes that Sunday's historic victory over Manchester United proves that the team deserve to be third in the Premier League table.
Dusan Tadic scored the one and only goal to earn the Saints their first victory at Old Trafford since 1988.
"We're delighted," Davis told the club's official website. "It was important, I think, for people outside of the club were questioning whether we could beat teams in the top six, and it's nice to come to places like that [and win].
"I think our performances against Man United as a whole in the last few times we've played them have deserved more and haven't really got it, so it was nice to put that right."
Ronald Koeman's side are unbeaten in their last five league fixtures.
