Steven Davis: 'We need to be more clinical'

Southampton midfielder Steven Davis urges his teammates to find their form in front of goal for their clash against West Bromwich Albion.

Southampton midfielder Steven Davis feels that his side need to rediscover their clinical edge to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Saints have scored just once in their last four matches, which occurred in their 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers.

However, Ronald Koeman's side's failure to find the net resulted in their defeats to Swansea City and Liverpool, and Davis is adamant that needs to change against West Bromwich Albion.

He told the club's official website: "The performances have been good. We've just found it hard to put the ball in the back of the net recently. If we keep playing the way we are and creating chances, it's only a matter of time before we start hitting the back of the net again.

"Maybe our good away form is down to the approach of the other teams. Away from home obviously the other team is at home and come out a little bit more, that gives us more space in behind.

"Any time you play at Tony Pulis team or West Brom team, they're going to be well organised. It's important we move the ball as fast as possible and try to create good opportunities and be ruthless in the box."

Southampton are fifth in the Premier League going into their match against the Baggies.
