Guly Do Prado has committed his future to Premier League side Southampton by signing a one-year extension to his contract.
The fresh terms have tied the Brazilian striker to the Saints until the summer of 2014.
Having helped the club gain promotion from the Championship last season, the 30-year-old has admitted that he cannot wait to feature in the top flight over the coming months.
"I'm very happy to have signed a new contract," he told the club's official website. "To be able to stay here for another year to help the team was very important for me, and I think I have a big opportunity this season.
"We are going to play in big stadiums against big players, and the fans are going to be happy to see these teams in Southampton again.
"It's going to be fantastic because I have a big chance to show people what I can do."
Guly joined Southampton from Italian club Cesena in 2010.
