Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino has lauded the "amazing" Artur Boruc after the goalkeeper denied Shane Long a last-gasp equaliser in the 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
Adam Lallana's 66th-minute strike proved enough for the Saints to claim their first victory of the New Year, but the result might have been different had Boruc not produced a point-blank save in the closing stages from the Irishman.
The Poland international had missed the previous six weeks with a fractured hand and Pochettino was quick to acknowledge his importance to the team.
He told Sky Sports: "It was a great performance by Boruc and it was a massive save at the end that really saved us. We know of his quality and we know how amazing he is."
Pochettino's men remain ninth in the Premier League table.
