Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has conceded that his team had only themselves to blame following their 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa.
The Saints boss believes that his side were creative going forward, but punished for their sloppy defending during the Premier League contest.
"We were made to pay for some bad defending. They created four chances and scored three goals, whereas we created 21 chances and scored twice," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.
"We were unlucky, but we also made mistakes."
Southampton twice drew level during the match before Fabian Delph scored the decisive goal for Paul Lambert's side.
