Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez has claimed that he and his teammates have 'deserved' better results because of their positive performances.
Claude Puel's men have suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, losing to Chelsea and Hull City before the international break.
The Saints will try to get back on track on Saturday afternoon, but they face a difficult task as they welcome Premier League leaders Liverpool to St Mary's.
"I'm not sure what we have done in the games that we haven't got the points we wanted, but I think we take confidence from our performances." Rodriguez told Sky Sports News.
"Hopefully our results will start changing and the main thing is to work hard and to keep that going. We have got a good team spirit, great lads and we work hard for each other and it shows against the big teams.
"The performances have been really good, it's just the results maybe we deserve a bit better."
Southampton currently sit 10th in the league table after taking 13 points from 11 games.
