Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has suggested that losing Morgan Schneiderlin to injury made it harder for his side to get a result against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Frenchman was substituted at half time with the Premier League clash at St Mary's goalless, but reigning champions City eventually secured a 3-0 triumph.
When asked by reporters if Schneiderlin's injury made the job harder, Koeman said: "Maybe. It is always a little bit influence in the game because he's an important player for us. We don't have 24 players what they have to change in the second half for example, we know that."
Southampton dropped from second to third in the league table as a result of the defeat.
