Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse has said that he is determined to force his way into the senior England squad this season.
The 20-year-old has impressed with the South coast club and the England Under-21s, while speculation has linked the youngster with a move to Manchester City.
England manager Roy Hodgson previously revealed that Ward-Prowse is part of his future plans but had been reluctant to call him up due to his commitments to Gareth Southgate's side.
Ward-Prowse told reporters after Southampton's win against Vitesse Arnhem: "International-wise I want to be heading for the full England squad, so hopefully if I keep performing well for the club then hopefully the first team with England will come calling."
The midfielder managed 26 appearances in all competitions last season, creating six assists and scoring once.
