Ryan Bertrand is reportedly on the brink of penning a new contract at Southampton.
The Englishman has been a regular in the starting lineup since moving to St Mary's in 2015, making 185 appearances in all competitions.
However, the 31-year-old opted to begin the new season with less than a year remaining on his contract, keeping his options open with regards to a switch elsewhere.
According to Goal, Bertrand is now prepared to extend his spell on the South Coast until the end of 2022-23.
The development coincides with Southampton's recent return to form after opening the campaign with back-to-back defeats.
Bertrand has played every minute of the club's first five Premier League fixtures this season.
