Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that Dusan Tadic does not want to leave the club.
The Serbian playmaker cast doubt over his future at St Mary's earlier this week by reportedly refusing to confirm that he would be a Saints player next season.
"For every player if he doesn't start regularly it's difficult," said Koeman of Tadic, who has started only six of the club's 13 Premier League games in 2016.
"You talk about what came out in the press, I spoke to Dusan and he was totally surprised. He's one of the players that if he has a problem he will talk to the manager. We have good contact.
"Even in the winter time when he wasn't playing all the time we spoke about his situation. There's no problem at the moment and for next season we will see what happens."
Tadic joined the Saints from Dutch side FC Twente in 2014.
