Southampton are reportedly leading the chase to sign Verona winger Emil Hallfredsson.
The 29-year-old, who has been capped 37 times by Iceland at senior international level, has also attracted the attention of a number of Verona's Serie A rivals.
However, according to talkSPORT, Hallfredsson, who was on Tottenham Hotspur's books between 2005 and 2007, has his heart set on a return to England.
Hallfredsson failed to make a single first-team appearance for Spurs, but he does have experience playing in England, having played 30 games while on loan at Barnsley.
He significantly enhanced his reputation last season courtesy of a string of fine displays, which helped Verona earn promotion as Serie B runners-up.
